Yellow-headed AmazonBirds in Suriname

Yellow-headed Amazon, Parrot, Amazone á tête jaune, Papagaio-campeiro, Loro real

Three yellow-headed amazons flying above Weg naar Zee, along the coast of Suriname in November 2007, photographed by Carla Out. And four photos by Carl Beel also at Weg naar Zee in 2009 and 2008. The yellow forehead and the red bend in the wing make identification possible. This Amazon is rare in Suriname, but is found along the coast as well as in the interior. It has a sound different from the very common Orange-winged Amazon.
