A photo of a pair of Chestnut-fronted Macaws in a tree in the north of Suriname made by Foek Chin Joe in September 2008 and a picture of a pair of Chestnut-fronted Macaws flying over Peperpot by Carl Beel and last birds flying over Raleigh Falls nature reserve in Suriname in 2002. They usually fly in a bit larger groups and are recognisable by there red underwings. They prefer swampy areas and are sometimes found near Paramaribo, like over peperpot in the second picture. But the best place to look for them nowadays, is the Raleigh Falls nature reserve.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
